Agree, always found the .50's more than adequate.
You do need to hit at convergence to do real damage, but the experts can certainly do that - I've been sawed in half in a 190 by BlueLion bouncing me in a P51 with a half-second burst.
Unofortunately, at the moment my shooting accuracy is terrible ( and that word is inadequate in describing the true horror and dire nature of my hit ability ). It seems that is the first thing to go when you get rusty.
Dammit !
