S! Chaps,
I tried to install the UI v1.2 last night and made a real mess of things !!! 
...in the end I had to delete my copy of IL-2 and replace it with my back-up version of 4.08.
So this got me thinking, no doubt in the near future AAA will bring out a `mods pack` that will be compatible with the new 4.09, so why not just load the `official` version of 4.09 untill then ?
In the short-term it means losing all the great aircraft and maps, but no doubt in a few weeks AAA will have brought out a compatible mods pack.
your views on this ?
