1980 Chevrolet Malibu 2-door for sale, clear title, was going to turn into a street/strip car, but have changed directions. Car was originally equipped w/a 3.8 V-6/Metric tranny combo. Car has original faded light blue paint. Body is in good condition w/no sheetmetal damage. Car has never been in a collision. Body has no rust, no frame rot. Overall condition is fairly rough. Entire original interior is still in car, but in very poor condition. Urethane body moldings are mostly dry rotted. Passenger rear quarter window has been broken out. Front windshield is cracked. Remaining glass is in good condition. Doors, windows, & trunk lid are all OEM functional. Steering column is still in car, and car includes an extra complete steering column. Front clip & front suspension/brakes have been removed. Engine & transmission have been removed from car. Heater & A/C box have been removed from car and thrown away, as well as inner fenders. Firewall & front frame stub have been partially cleaned & painted w/epoxy chassis gloss black. GM manual steering box has been installed. Chromemoly tubular upper A-arms w/aluminum cross shafts installed w/AFCO low-friction upper ball joints also installed. Remaining suspension & front brakes need to be cleaned, assembled & installed. Car includes new AFCO low-friction lower ball joints, new Global West Del-a-Lum lower A-arm bushings, new center link, new idler arm (already installed), new inner tie rods, and new IMCA-style outer tie rod assemblies (includes tubular steel tie rod adjusting sleeves w/jam nuts, heim joint outer tie rod ends, and adjustable tie rod-to-spindle links to eliminate bump steer). Factory front disc brakes included but need cleaned and overhauled. Car includes 4130 chromemoly tubular lightweight transmission crossmember for TH350/Powerglide, and is built to clear dual exhaust. Car still has original 7.5” 10-bolt rear end (no idea on gear ratio), but also includes a Mexican G-body Dana 44 rear end, which is a direct bolt-in w/factory G-body suspension. Dana 44 includes complete drum brakes, e-brake cables, bolt-in 30-spline axles, and factory cover, but needs carrier & gears (spool & gears available cheap). Car includes double-adjustable heim-joint rear upper control arms for 12-bolt swap and new rear coil spring axle housing perches for A-body 12-bolt swap if you want to swap in a ’64-‘72 A-body 12-bolt rear end into car (parts also work to swap a ’73-’77 A-body 8.5” 10-bolt into G-body). Car includes complete new Prothane polyurethane body mount bushing & hardware kit. $700.00 O.B.O. … motivated seller!!! Thanks!
