caught one by cornering it & putting a shoebox over it, slid a piece of cardboard under it and transferred him outside the front door (my backyard is cat-proofed).
Does your cat carrier have a grill on the front that mousie could fit through with the door closed? If you put food in there and mousie takes the bait, you'd soon hear about it as the kitties rattle the crate.
