The trap I pictured is one I have, but did NOT use for the reasons you state, plus I thought it was unreliable after I attempted to make it work a few times on my own.
I did get another one and this is the one I used. It's quite large, with lots of room and air can get in easily. I put food in it, so the mouse was okay until I found it.
I'm sorry - my memory just doesn't work anymore.
