They start out tiny with respect to the head, then grow into oversized fruit-bat ears & then their heads & bodies grow to fit the ears. I've always wondered why. Do they need super hearing at ~3 mos because their eyesight takes longer to sharpen? Or is it because ~3 mos is when Moms leave them to their own devices? However on animal shows I don't recall seeing lion, tiger, leopard or cheetah cubs with huge ears.
