If I wanted to, I could turn into a complaint which would require a court hearing. Not interested in escalating this situation like that, at least right now. The police said I could seek a civil restraining order, which is different than domestic abuse/violence restraining orders in that they are given when there is no legal relationship. However, it's a long, tedious, expensive (as in attorney) process. From what I've read, it also requires a consistent pattern of harassment with intent and one circumstance doesn't qualify.
I found the Little Princess Shirley Temple doll in my garage and one of the cat plates. I think there are three, so I'll have to look some more. There's a chance I threw them out or gave them away and, if I did, I'm just going to buy a few cat plates just like them and give her those.
I've decided the way I am going to hand these over to her. The place will be the information desk at my town's municipal center, about 15 feet away from the police dept. I will have someone, who will not be me, meet her, give her the items and serve as a witness that they were given to her. I don't know who that someone will be, perhaps a P.I. I hire.
I'm going to wire my phone so that it will record conversations.
I am just hoping that with giving her these items and a message from the P.I. (or whomever) not to contact me again in any way and that there is a civil restraining order in the works (even if there isn't) she will just go away and make someone else's life miserable.
BTW, the policeman told me that I could have posted bail with the court and not through a bail bond agency. If I'd done the former, I would have gotten my money back after the case was deposed. The police in the town where the case was heard, where I went the night Karen was arrested, didn't tell me that. They just gave me some bail bond names to call.
