Andrea, I know how much you loved her and always will. I know that she was, besides yourself, the last link, the last of the loving, happy group that moved to the house in the Catskills. I know that compounds the loss. But, most of all, I know that you gave Smokey the best of lives and she loved you so much in return for your love.
What a feisty little girl! I am glad I had the opportunity to meet her little self in person. She let me pet her, but she only had eyes for you and, while I was there, Molly Good Girl.
They love us totally, with complete trust and devotion. But they are always, always gone too soon, even at 19 years. Too soon.
I'm so sorry for this heartbreak, Andrea. Even when we know it is time, our hearts are unprepared for the devastation of the loss. I am sending hugs, love, everything I can give you from the distance of place and closeness of heart.
She lived a good, long, loved life. And now she's gone to be with her other family. Godspeed little Smokey. Fly high into the arms of your other kitty friends (even Lily Belle) and Greg.
