40 cats! Bless your heart. I understand how you wound up with so many. Must be a lot of work and money to keep up with them.
The housing/economic crisis has exacerbated the already difficult and sad problem of unwanted animals. Now, people are giving up pets they love simply because they can no longer afford them. Heartbreaking.
