gaining is definitely good. the metronizol must be helping, teh fluids certainly are helping. i think a lot of vets only tell youthe most probable causes/interpretations because they worry about freakign out owners by saying either too many things or somethign that is too scary.
i'd hold off on that urine test, too, since it was never mentioned to you. See what the blood results show and go from there.
that sucks about the Toll! I don't know any way to fight those either.
