Mom has found that being firm and pushy seems to be about the only way to get what she needs!
take a deep breath, try not to be yelling or hyper on the phone because that just makes their brains classify you as 'crazy lady' but if you can be firm and insistent then you come across as very concerned and demanding but don't get the instand 'freak' label.
if the vet doesn't answer your question to your satisfaction, then when say something like "I understand that, but what about his pancreas?"
