I don't know how much of this story you've been following but I promise you it hasn't been good from day one with this. And I'm sorry that receptionist gave you so much grief, especially after the fact that you did lose your kitty during the surgery....I'm sure it was just another day for her.
For the record, I did work part time at a multi vet clinic. Given the attitudes of the techs and receptionists there and lack of concern from a few of the vets there, how the animals were sometimes treated , (or not treated),k, what they charge, the not cleaning of tables in the back before putting an animal on it, etc (I could go on) I wouldn't consider taking my cats there. Trust me, you are correct, your cat is your priority, not theirs. Their priority is the almighty buck...after all it is to a point still a business, but to some that's all it is...your feelings and concerns are neither here nor there.
Again, I am so sorry over the loss of your cat. Did they do bloodwork before the surgery or try to talk you out of it before proceeding based on the fact he may not have made it? In all fairness to this stupid mess, they are trying to straighten out whatever is going on with his insides before doing a "real" dental on him because they fear he may not make another round of being knocked out. I'm just fed up with all the bs that's going on...and I'm paying big bucks for it now. I will keep you posted when I hear back from the vet at Red Bank about his bloodwork.
