I sympathize what you went through. I've seen myself ransacking my house trying to find cats, while picturing them lying dead somewhere.
I'm wondering if Rescue Remedy would help her calm down a bit so maybe her attacks might abate somewhat? I know it did help my incredibly thin-skinned Stinkerbell chill out.
