Unfortunately high blood pressure actually helps failing kidneys by forcing blood through them and increasing kidney function. It's a trade-off when treating high blood pressure (or hyper-T causing high blood pressure) and you and the vet will have to decide which is worse for her and adjust the medication accordingly.
You will see from the CRF site I gave you that there is a lot that can be done now for CRF cats to improve quality of life and extend lifespan. Cats adjust to blindness well so she can still be happy even if her retinas don't reattach. You just need to be careful not to leave things in her way or to move furniture, and she will soon learn to get around.
