Just had my almost-14-year-old Papillon in for his six month checkup. His checkup six months ago showed an enlarged heart and heart murmur which hit me really hard because the vet has always commented on how strong his heart sounded, and this was the first time there's been a change from that. I've been worried sick, even though dogs can live with heart murmurs for quite a long time. He IS almost 14 years old, after all!
Well - the vet could hear NO signs of a heart murmur today! Lungs are clear, heart sounds good! I was so relieved I started crying! (Silly, I know - but I've been SO worried about my little guy!)
So maybe the salmon oil I've been giving him is helping . . . . . . .
