Cat Allergy Question

Someone wants to add a cat to there home. They are not sure if allergys efffect the dad and older son living there. They have a dog. I told them I would bring some cat infested things and some cat fur (since I have plenty!) and see if there is anything to go on. I know it's dander and not fur but I wanted to try.
