Pred, as you know, is an anti-inflammatant medication. It can work wonders. Chloe has been on it for 10-1/2 years with no ill effects. The side effects of pred were over dramatized for a number of years. More recent studies have shown that its side effects are not particularly dire, even after long-term use.
Perhaps there is something besides Atopica the vet can prescribe?
What is the source of Buddy's scratching? Is it an allergy?
