I sat with her one night and we had a heart to heart. And she has wormed her way into my heart.
This girl has been through quite an ordeal over the past month. To make a long story short, Jennifer and I took her to the practice where Jen takes her cats. She had a thorough work up, pictures taken of her mouth, etc. Her blood work checked out okay so dental extraction was scheduled for Jan. 3. Daisy had all of her teeth except her two bottom fangs extracted. She did fine with the surgery and came home the next day with a mouth full of stitches and three different meds.
Her mouth is healing, she is eating again, and she is a different cat. She is still too thin, but I can see a little difference (weight gain) since the surgery. I'm going to take her in tomorrow for another B-12 injection and a weight check. I don't think she needs fluids, but I'll see what the vet thinks. Her normal weight should be 8-9 lbs. and the last time she was weighed (4-days post-op) she weighed about 5 lbs. 10 oz. She doesn't like canned food so she is eating kibble..or gumming it. She doesn't run from the food after a couple of bites like she was doing.
