I've had a few issues going on here lately too. We have mostly seniors as well. Our 17 1/2 year old Fuzzy, was/is really kinda thin, drinks a lot, and though he acts ok I just want to check if he was maybe diabetic or if he was in kidney failure, so I brought in a sample. They found he had a lot of bacteria in his urine! So he was on Clavamox and now he's seemingly even better. He walks and looks for me upstairs and I found him sleeping in bed a few times. I do have to syringe him water and watered A/D and baby food around the clock though...so he flushes his kidneys out instead of subq's. So that's working out.
Whitey must have hurt himself though and I'm not happy with the vet's synopsis. I brought him in cause his back legs seems weak. And he felt he injured himself. Wish he took an xray. And he put him on pred. Which didn't really help, started to at first but he's still has walking issues. He's very happy and alert, just walks weird. I may take him back for an xray. I got him on Clavamox now cause I did think that was helping originally, but I switched him to the pred after the vet. But I'm still watching him.
I'm very glad to hear that Daisy is doing better after her dental. That's great news! I have to bring Carlos in for a dental, but he's so darn hard to capture. I have no room to keep him in (Jenny is taking over the sunroom for now). But I do have to catch him and set something up.
Then Red with his IBD, doing what I can for that. It's always something when they get older.
I'm glad your group is doing well. How old is your oldest now?
