What is wrong with people???? I would have a hard time hearing anything out of her mouth without wanting to scream!!!

He husband claims to actually be literate but I think that he's lying just to make her feel sorry for him. A real pair of aces those two are.
Frankly I don't think that most of the kittens would stand a chance even if she left them at the vets as young as they are and with what was more than likely an upper respiratory infection.
When do kittens open their eyes? Three weeks? It's been over 20 years since I've had a litter of kittens around and I don't remember any more. I love them, but I'm a big fan of getting cats fixed. Of course I'm putting off getting Sassy fixed because I'm scared of leaving her at the vets and finding out what her test results are.

My rescue group has taken in alot of sick, orphaned kittens over the years (I've fostered my share of them). They are fragile and can succumb easily but we have saved alot of them. I know it requires a huge effort and even then there are no guarantees but we always have tried our best. That's why I have a hard time relating to people like that.

they are not long for this world anyway, poor things. Mom's know when their babies are survivors or not. I fully believe that when mom deserts her children, that they are not healthy.

Even with Sassy, could you steal them and put them in a box in the bathroom? I'd not worry about the felv - I think that's the least of these kittens' problems. - gotta disagree

my half sister Sixtoes was rejected at 3 days old. she has some of the same issues I have as far as the fused spine and sensitive gut, but has a very strong immune system. she almost never ever even sniffles. She is a big girl, 11 lbs, and not fat, so she isn't even runtie.
kittens might get too cold if shoved away from momcat and die from hypothermia, but we don't belive that moms always know best.

One of the other adoption counselors was telling me last night how the numbers go up for her shelter every year and how last year out of a couple thousand cats/kittens they only adopted out less than 200! It seems like no matter how many of us trap, speuter, rescue, adopt, that the problem just keeps growing. And with people like your co-worker its no wonder!! - She says that I'm the only..

I would complain to her about how much my vet bill was and she would look at me like I was stupid for spending all that money on my cat or dog. Why waste money on some thing that was disposable and easily replaced? She has no problem driving a Caddy and having diamonds on all ten fingers or spending $500 a couple times a year on Mary Kay or wearing $60 jeans but spending money on my pets if a stupid waste of money.
Her Arabian horse got hurt last summer and turned up lame, they never had the vet out to look at him. Her husband declared that he wasn't going to get better and shot him!!!
I was sick when she told me that, I am horse people too and unless there was a bone sticking out I would never even consider doing such a thing with out even calling the vet.
And yes, I have been wanting to strangle her for some time now.

She is very backwards in her ways and thinking. I try to be understanding, she has had a hard life. Her father beat her, her ex husband beat her and her current husband beats her, but an intelligent person learns and changes, she only seems to stagnate and seek out abusive relationships and then takes out her pain and anger on animals and some times people.
Last year she found a neighbors husky on her porch, he was after her un spayed border collie. She tried to chase him off with a broom but he got cornered instead so she started beating him with the broom! He couldn't get away so he growled at her (who wouldn't!) and she almost beat the dog to death! She came to work and bragged about it to me.
By the way, the collie got pregnant and she was giving the puppies almost daily baths when they were just a few days old. She gave them all away and informed me that she was going to breed the dog again to get some pure bred puppies next time.
She is going to days soon and I won't have to work with her any more... I'm looking forward to her leaving.... we used to be friends, but... I don't need friends like her, those I can do with out. - Well,honestly, I would like to beat her, too. nm
