| Are there any vets that you can really trust and depend on to be on top of things...msg

with you? My head is about to explode. Seems there is no such thing as a vet you can trust to deal straight with you. As I have previously posted about Razzeratz, Dr. B at Red Bank suggested an endoscopy for Razzeratz. Due to the expense and my lack of adequate finances, I declined but did accept the suggestion of an aspiration of a lymph node. That came back negative for cancer, but I was warned that he could still have cancer elsewhere which the endoscopy could have picked up. What he had done was a consult with the dentist over his teeth, who upon viewing his bloodwork ordered their own round of bloodwork and he was referred to an internist who did the aspiration of the lymph node, and the ultrasound. We discussed the continued possibility of cancer, but also his inflamed pancreas, ibd, thickening of his intestinal walls, and crf. We agreed that he’d be on metronidazole. I asked if he should also be on sub-qs. He agreed that would be a good idea. A blood recheck should take place in two weeks focusing on his red and white blood cell count, HyperT count and kidney and liver values. So today was his big day for the recheck. I told the techh only the bloodwork…no office visit. She came back with a sheet of paper from Red Bank also requesting a urinalysis and a urine culture. No one told me about this at Red Bank, just do the bloodwork. The following was faxed to the quack vets on the 14th. I was at Red Bank on the 6th and in all that time no one called me and notified me of the extra tests. page 2 “of colonic lymph nodes were performed, and cytology was consistent with lymphoid hyperplasia. Main differential diagnoses include intestinal lymphosarcoma, severe inflammatory bowel disease, or FIP. Gastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopoy with biopsies, or abdominal exploratory were recommended, but declined at this time by the owner because of financial constraints. Conservative medical management, including subcutaneous fluids administration at home and oral metronidazole was prescribed. A recheck appointment in 2 weeks at your clinic or here was also recommended to repeat Razzeratz’s physical examination, complete blood count, serum chemistry, T4, urinalysis and urine culture. Thank you for the courtesy of this interesting referral. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.” At no time did either vet I spoke with at Red Bank mention FIP, nor was an “exploratory” ever mentioned. As for the sub-qs, that was MY idea. I had to ask is maybe that would be beneficial at this point. Dr. B at Red Bank said it certainly wouldn’t hurt. He also wasn’t referred by the quack vet. The quack vet referred me to Dr. S, the dental vet, who in turn passed us over to Dr. B. So tomorrow afternoon, once they have the chance to fax over the bloodtest to Red Bank I will call Dr. B and ask about the two other tests (which will cost $155. Now remember the phrase he used…financial constraints…so let’s toss in a couple more tests and not tell me about it before hand. If he thinks I have since hit the lottery, he has been misinformed. In fact I just got a summons from EZ pass…something a bout me going through a toll booth and not forking over $1.00…First of all there was no toll booth I went through that was for $1.00. Secondly the booths I went through both flashed the paid light. So now they want the buck and and extra 25 bucks besides. I can’t even begin to imagine how I will be able to fight this….I think they’re running a scam and may in in cahoots with Red Bank and the quack vets. On an up note, Razzeratz did gain some. 7/6 he was all of 7.2#. Today he’s 7.15#!!! So he is gaining..that has to be a good sign, right????? Right?????
