There was a calizo (Cali-Co and and orange cat (Morris) that kept showing up in my backyard. Cali-Co went missing for a while, but I didn't think too much of it because I always thought they belonged to someones (they always looked like they were a meal or two short of being well fed and very cleann looking). Cali-Co eventually showed up with a black and white kitten...long story short I trapped him and took him in and contacted numerous rescue groups to see if anyone would take him. Nope. I did get the group I work with to have him vetted and let me bring him to Petco on adoption day. He was adopted in 2 hours of me being there. They worked with me with getting Morris (who I eventually took in( and Cali-Co (eventually hit by a car) s/n'd. From there I started to work with the business of tnr'ing the cats in the neighborhood. I knew others were feeding them, but no one was snipping them. I took in preggers Smokey and she had her kittens...got them all adopted, her spayed and adopted. Took a bit of a break, while trying to get the remaining cats to get to know me...I resumed and got Missy who fit in too well here to be put back out or adopted, then got Mr. Orange...meant to have him adopted, but could never pick him up. At that time the Board of Health, answering a complaint about me feeding wildlife sent me a letter telling me to stop. I could even face jail time as well as a huge fine if I'm caught so much as feeding a squirrel. So now I just foster, and since I have so many of my own adult cats I'll only do kittens or prego moms that have some place to go once they're done nursing and being spayed. I have had a pretty steady supply of kittens since last October. And now with the ac and a crate in the spare room I can do doubles!!! If you have room for a large crate 48X36x33" you coulod do it too, or a room that you can keep them in most of the time with a closing door. Kittens will move alot faster than adults, though they can go quick too..it's a crap shoot.
