I have heard about placing things along paths for her to smell and use as a reference though they have good memories of where stuff is. Just make sure things that stick out are not a hazard.
Give her as much care as you can. It is time consuming I know. But if there are things to give her some decent QOL then do so.
Yes, take care with the BP meds. Make sure the dose is correct of perhaps start her off small? There are those here who can help you so always check back and make sure you are always in contact with your vet(s).

It's a trade-off when treating high blood pressure (or hyper-T causing high blood pressure) and you and the vet will have to decide which is worse for her and adjust the medication accordingly.
You will see from the CRF site I gave you that there is a lot that can be done now for CRF cats to improve quality of life and extend lifespan. Cats adjust to blindness well so she can still be happy even if her retinas don't reattach. You just need to be careful not to leave things in her way or to move furniture, and she will soon learn to get around. - I forwarded the link on to my vet so we can work together on this nm
