I understand what you're saying; when people say you will get over it, it's like they are putting salt on the wound. I don't think you ever get over losing someone you care for so deeply, but I think that you can learn to live with it. What I mean is, you shouldn't feel like you need to accept it necessarily and get on with you life, rather you should live each day, thats it just live each day. Slowly each day might get better, and you can start thinking ahead again. I'm not great at advice, but I hope that something I write might offer some comfort. I know it's easy to drink and feel a bit better, but it will only make things harder, please don't turn to that, you sound like a lovely person and you don't need anymore problems. Have you tried talking to a counselor, or maybe even groups of people that have went through the same experience? That might help you cope. Well, just remember that you had the opportunity to love someone great and they loved you, and that never goes away.
