To Anne and Lauren,
The first Christmas that I had lost my husband I cried all the way through church. So many things went through my mind but towards the end of the mass. I bowed my hand and Thanked God that I was the lucky one to have him as my husband and my son who was 9 also Thanked God for having him for a dad.
Go to church, sit in the back and cry if you want too. It's fine.. You won't be the first nor the last to do that. After all what better place to place your grief at than in God's house.
He knows you are hurting and in deep sorrow. I still lose it after 2 1/2 years and when they play Silent Night I'm sure the tears will come.
Don't ever feel that you have to hold your pain and grief in. I learned that as I went. If people cannot deal with it that isn't your problem. You need to let the pain out.
I am so very sorry for both of your losses.
May you survive this first holiday without your loved one with them their in spirit holding your hand and guiding you through this.
Peace and love of Christmas
