death of my elderliy friend

i want to recite a poem for my freind who i looked after for ten years,his family hate me because they think i influenced his decission to disown them which i didnt,i cant find the words to write without upsetting them but i loved my friend and i dont know what to do.ive arranged the funeral will some one write me a good bye poem please?
