Debbie,
Breathe hon.... just breathe, feel my arms around you, holding you.. you'll get through... I promise.
You can put your head right here and just cry, let it all out!!!!!!!
I can shoulder some of your burden. My neck feels much better, I survived my first shift back. The neck held up better than my feeties did. My feet were burning sooooo badly this morning. I wore the wrong socks to work, and they were rubbing on the souls of my feet the wrong way for 13 hours. But.. its all good. My coworker said that I was GLEAMING last night. I really do love nursing.
As for meatloaf... YUM. The first wedding anniversary without Roy, I made his favourite meal, poured some apple juice in our crystal goblet given to us on our wedding day, and drank to us. Just because your sweetheart isn't with you anymore, physically, he is there with you in your heart, and in your memories. So, make the meatloaf, and drink with him to a beautiful anniversary for the both of you.
Now, I told you you'd crash hon.. its part of the after surgery blues... (It will be okay). Just breathe right through it. Ask your beloved to just be there with you to help you through this week and the next few weeks.
Hey, Debbie, yes, I worked in New Hampshire. I worked at Concord Hospital, ICU. I also worked in Derry for a little while. I spent 4 years in New Hampshire. Lived in Manchester. On Edward J. Roy Drive. I swear Roy and I were just meant to be together. My lonely touch light exactly matched his lonely touch light. We had a matching set for the 2 night stands I had when I moved to Wisconsin to be with him. We even had the same first 3 digits in our phone numbers, 644. Except the area code was different. I miss him so much. I posted my last valentine's day gift from Roy here. He wrote it for 'us' and presented it to me on photo paper with an eagle above the poem and a rose on the bottom, with vineyard like boarders. The poem pretty much describes the most precious moments of our very short but forever life together.
I promise you, if you ask your sweetheart to come to you on your anniversary, he will. You will get through. I will email you my phone number Debbie, I am home on Valentine's day, if you need to hear a 'voice' you can call me anytime.
All my prayers to you that God's strength will be with you these next few weeks.
Hugs and hugs and hugs for you. I hold you so tightly. I will hold you up this week and the next.
Lovingly,
Judith
