This morning I watched the sun rise
The pinks, mauves, and blues in the skies
It painted the horizon as I've not seen in a while
And just for you, I sent you a smile
I know you are in God's arms
Looking out for me, and keeping me from harm
I may still miss you lots
But, my heart is no longer tied in knots
Yes, I still cry once in a blue moon
But then, I think, I will get to see you soon
When the Lord comes for me
Once I've completed all He asks of me
I promise to live my life as you lived yours
To laugh, joke, help others and not keep scores
To forgive and forget what others have done
What's in the past, is passed and gone
So, my sweet man, in Heaven you are
Forever my beloved one, you are not far
I just need to remember to see
You are in my heart with me
So, that beautiful sunrise
With pinks, mauves, and blues in the skies
I looked up to the Heavens for quite a while
So you could enjoy my beautiful smile
