Nearly 6 years ago, a drunk driver took the lives of my Mom, Sister and 13 month Niece. My 3 year old Nephew survived to be paralyzed. Last week my Brother In Law remarried. Although it is extremely difficult, I am accepting of his new wife. She is good for both him and my Nephew. Instead of my family attending her bridal shower, we took her to dinner (as a whole family) as a welcoming to our family. This may sound strange to some, but my Brother In Law has remained extremely close with all of my family. Together, him and I started a non profit to work along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving and each year we hold a benefit concert and use the proceeds for scholarship programs, billboards and many public awareness efforts. Chelsea (the new wife) has even participated in many of the things we have done.
To get to my point, I have been searching for a fitting wedding gift. I would really like to find a quote that is fitting to the situation. I am not all up for the normal wedding gifts that encourage love and excitement in a marriage, as that is how I felt when it was my Sister marrying him...... Ideally, I would like something that begins with something like, the past can't be changed..... to have engraved on a photo or plaque. I have spent a lot of time searching for inspirational quotes online, but nothing is right. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
