Although everyone grieves differently, I want you to know that I am experiencing a very similar situation.
And there is nothing that is going to take away your pain... except time... and all I can say is the way I have come to terms without breaking down all of the time is to just try to remind yourself that your grandfather would NOT want you to be sad all of the time, but rather to honor his memory by carrying on your life and pressing forward. Your life can be a tribute to everything he taught you.
I don't have any hard fast answers to this process, since my grandma just died 3 days ago... but I know she'd be so mad at me if she saw me crying all of the time, and that is all I really have wanted to do.
Time might not heal us, but I have to believe it will provide a balm for the sting... and all we can do is take it one moment at a time.
