Dear Sylvia,
I sit here 2 1/2 years after my husband's death. He passed away with me holding his hand, taking his last breath. He looked so handsome and finally peaceful with his little smirk smile that I had fallen in love with, across his face. His face, no longer frowned with pain, and his eyes just peacefully closed.
Having just read your posting, I knew I had to reach out to you. For your pain and loss, I hug you and send you my prayers that you find healing and peace. There are no answers to the why questions you have right now.. it just is.
The memories of you and he will flood you in the next few weeks. The last moments with him will replay in your head. You will be stopped at a stoplight and visions will just burst through and you will start crying. The I wishes I hadn't fallen asleep, and the I wishes I could have been awake to say good bye, and the I wishes...
I hold out my heart and my arms to give you my friendship. I would love to hear about your sweet love.
Mine suffered from end stage kidney failure. He fought for 30 years, and had 3 failed transplants. He enjoyed life and did more within his limitations than those who have none.
My heart goes out to you and all those around you who are trying to be supportive. I will pray that God's angels who are now taking care of your sweet love, will also send their healing to you.
For all you will go through, I send you my heartfelt wishes that God's love embraces you every day.
Lovingly,
Judith
