For Sylvia- a poem: Seasons Changing

Seasons Changing

The sun peeked through for just a brief moment
Before the clouds rolled in from the North
And just like the weather changes
So does my heart

I have my moments of happiness and smiles
Before the tears come from only God knows where
And just like a sudden storm approaches
My heart pours out emotion

The memories of when we were together
The memories of when you fell ill
The memories of me trying hard to move on
My heart can still remember

The days roll by so quickly
The hours tick by sometimes too slowly
The nights linger on and on
And my heart still aches for your love

Then the seasons come and go
My favourite now is winter with its snow
It used to be autumn with coloured leaves fallen
But, now, my heart is too saddened

So, the weather and seasons keep changing
The years pass by like fallen leaves in autumn
Maybe spring will bring sunnier moments
And just maybe, my heart will love again
