Dear Kristen
I'm hugging you right now. Actually, your grandmother would probably love to just hold onto you right now. Perhaps do something for her like frame your favourite photo of you and your grandfather and present it to her, or write a letter that you can tuck under your pillow telling your grandfather how hard it is, and how you wish he could be here to help you and your grandmother.
I found that writing poetry for me was soothing. I also presented special things to my inlaws like a shadow box with Roy's favourite pair of sunglasses and a special photo of him and his father with the last rolling stones concert cd they attended together. His father was speechless. It is sitting on the top shelf centre corner of their new house, undisturbed.
For his mom, I make special collages with photos I find that Roy took of his family, and special moments of him and me. She looks forward to just special momentos like that. It doesn't take a lot of time to make, just alot of tears. But, my heart heals just a little bit more with every momento I work on.
You should see my portfolio of photos of him and me for all special occasions.
Kristen, I hug you hard. Even though your grandfather isn't around to tell you how proud and happy he is for you, he sees everything from Heaven. He is holding you and hugging you with all his love and his soul rejoices for your happiness.
Go to your grandmother, and just hold her. Let you both cry on each others' shoulders. That would be a special moment for the both of you.
Lovingly,
Judith
