Judith.. I read your post. My heart breaks for you and with you. I know your loss is a big part of your life. I felt your pain, and know that it is real, and it is deep.
My thoughts for you are simple. God has your Grandpa. I would not give up anyone I love to anyone else but God. We came from God, we go back to God. The bible promises us a place in heaven.. if we believe in Jesus.
I don't know your religious affiliation, or your age, But I do understand your Pain. I would tell you to remember your grandpa in the happiest of times, find a very happy photo of you both, and put it somewhere where you see it often. You will never forget him, the love, the relationship, it will get easier to deal with.
As far as your Grandma is concerned, and their anniversary, I think you should visit, you should bring photo's, you should remember with her. You should talk about all the wonderful things you all did together, and you could say right out loud that you miss him, and that you still love him..and that you are sorry for yourself and for Grandma that he is gone. But Honey, he is not Lost. His spirit will be in the room with you, and he is with GOD. What better place to be.
Cry together if you need to, and acknowledge that you both loved him, and miss him.
When we die, our spirit lives on. You know your Grandpa very well, if you think of him from your heart, you will hear from him in your heart. Much like we talk with God.
Life begins, and life ends, but our relationships, our love, our respect, and all we do for the ones we love lives on forever.
I pray for you...and your Grandma.. and I know your heart is big and in pain. Share that with Grandma..and you will help her heal. I am sure that you can help each other...
