My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary last December. I had back surgery and ended up with cauda equina syndrome - am learning to walk again - was in the hospital for 8 weeks. We both thought he was so tired because of working and then coming to the hospital daily - a 45 minute drive eah way.
On April 20th he saw our doctor, because he thought he had a sinus problem and also had a cough that was intermitent that started Christmas week.
The chest x-ray showed cancer in his right lung. Other tests show it has also moved into his bones.Saw the oncologist Friday past and we were told he had 6 months wthout treatment and perhaps a year with. He says he will fight every step of the way and beat it. He gets a port put in his chest this Wednesday and hopefully starts chemo next week.
To complicate matters, we are in the US on his work visa and I am to leave as soon as he passes away!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can apply for a B-2 visitor's visa that is good for 6 months. I can't afford to live here withou my hubby's pay check.
I would trade places with Mike in a heartbeat. I cannot imagine my life without him - he is my rock, my soulmate, my only true love.
How does one go on after such a horrible thing???
