I truly understand your loss. My husband was a fire fighter for 20 years and was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer 2007. The last six months of his life I sat by his side and cared for him. The last five days at the hospice center I sat in a chair next to his bed until he took his last breath 6-1-2009.
I too feel the same pain you feel he was just not my husband but my best friend my sole mate for life. I have not been able to cope and have been on several medications to help with the anxiety. I have been referred to a book called Widow to Widow and it has helped me to deal with some of the pain. I know my life will never be the same but my husband believed the pain too shall pass.
