Lauren, when a young life is snuffed out so rapidly and most of all out of pure meaness it is hard to go on without going through the grieving process. Do not misunderstand me, I know you will always remember your friend was savagely murdered. No, you will not ever be the same person you were and no, time does not make everything okay. But I do know you have to move forward, no matter how slowly. You have to grieve in you own way in your own time. Forgive them? Even a strong christian would find it difficult at some point. You, for the sake of your family and friends and most of all your own self, must not let these feelings of hatred defeat you. As time passes feelings get a little lighter but you will always remember. Focus on the wonderful person your friend was. Focus on how he was a light in your life and I am sure in the lives of many. Do not, please, let hatred ruin the memories of the special person your friend was.
