Have him masterminding all this crime, terrorism, mayhem, etc. Never seen only refered to vaguely. The Ocean Master as a name drop by a squealing thug, doesn't really sound like anyone in particular. At first. But that name just keeps appearing until he appears in his full costumed glory. Later we learn he is a water-breather and then AQ stands in horror to learn he is brother. They could stretch that drama out over two seasons.

I am concerned about the TV show. Whatever they do they will sell more than the current rendition of AQ comic books, or reach more people than any of the series and this will be what AQ is remembered for.
I wonder:
If they have enough access to the back issues to get a feel for the character, his villains, and his life. I am really concerned about the villains. The batman series did so well due to the way they played out the costumed villains. The saying you are only as good as your competition comes to mind.
I wouldn't really mind if they diverted into these like land issues, went after polluters, busted a few drug rings, got a land loving girl friend, and a few dive buddies. All of which they will think of on their own. I think Atlantis and Mera should wait till later seasons. Lay the kingship on him in the final season. Villains should pepper the series for added color( particularly from their wild costumes) .
It could be really good and the ocean shots could add colors that don't even appear in the books. Looking at all these books that span the years. The artist only start grooving on the ocean a couple times in the recent series. The Whale shot and the sea horses.
I just fear that writers won't take the time to tune in to see what morsels the fan base can provide. Kurt Busiek is very clever in that regard.
