Oslar,my friend -you hit the nail on the head! This Aquaman series was even taking some UK store owners I know by surprise -one was increasing the number of copies he was ordering. Now this. I love Busiek's work and Guice has been a favourite for quite a while. However,#40 has,literally,killed it for me. true,Aquaman was B A C K big time,in JUSTICE,JLA and his own title but this is a throw back to the Aquaman look NO ONE really liked! Personally,I don't think DC give a flying monkey what its readers like anymore. This is just another gimmick,showing that all of the company's soothing words to fans about really caring about what they thought of Aquaman. If #41 is the same thing I'm dropping it from my list -so,it seems,are those who were jumping onto the Aquaman series -and #40 has only been out 5 days here! Ex-Aquaman fan. --Previous Message-- : 1yr later killed aquaman. why change something : when it was so good? arthur during the : subdiego series was the best he's been in : years. add to that his appearance in jla's : "world w/o a justice league" and : you'll realize that aquaman was back to his : bad ass, stubborn, obnoxious, royal pain in : the ass self. and he was sporting the : orange/green classic!!! why change when : everything was going so good?!! and don't : cite sales as a reason. I don't care what dc : tries to do, aquaman will never sell. but dc : can at least appease the loyal fans who have : followed him for years by just cancelling : the title and letting him pop up across the : dcu. but no. dc had to "reinvent" : the character and ruined my favorite hero to : the point of no return. as a matter of fact : the dcu as a whole took a turn for the worst : with infinite crisis. for the two previous : years dc was solidifying their universe and : creating outstandin comics-- portraying : superheroes the way they should be. infinte : crisis took all that apart in a complete : 180. why? oh why did they do this to me. :
