No Aquaman on JLA? (Spoilers maybe I guess)

So I'm reading the new Justice League of America and I'm disappointed that it seems pretty definite Aquaman won't be on the team. I'm obviously influenced by the old Super Friends cartoon, but to me, Aquaman should be there. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Hawkman, and The Flash. There's your team.
It would've been cool to see him on the team. What do you guys think? Do you prefer that no one else tinker with him while Busiek and Guice make their mark without other books and creators muddying the waters, so to speak? Or would you like to see more of him regardless of circumstances?
