I thought in World War III, Book Two it was told that Aquaman made a deal w/ "the dark and angry gods" if he was to raise Sub Diego he would "be transformed into one akin to a great and terrible enemy of your people."
in the amount of time he was given. Although the real Aquaman was over in issue 39.
: It's that the boy (whose name I
: think all along was just Joseph Curry) died
: but his father used some water from classic
: Aquaman's hand to bring him back to life,
: but in so doing transformed classic Aquaman
: into the dweller, whose fate we don't learn.
: That weird Narwhal character turns out to
: have been Koryak and then he just leaves.
: Oh yeah, and "Joseph" learns all
: about his true origins from the Lady of the
: Lake! Remember her? I suppose it was a
: decent bookending to this series. And now
: it's over, and though we're promised we'll
: see him again in the new Outsiders series, I
: think that idea has been nixed too. Well,
: Joseph is going to fight Superman to keep
: some Kryptonite in Superman/Batman in a
: couple of months. Maybe that will be the
: start of something ... but why do I somehow
: doubt it?
