If they're going to give him a new series, then I agree with KreeCapt on most of what he said. Put him back on the throne and stick with one opinion of him. Either the Atlanteans love him, or they hate him. Just pick. Put he and Mara back together.
Now here's where I go my own way. Keep the water hand. Define it a bit more. An Aquaman title should have an air of mysticism about it, so it's a good fit. Leave him without children. The death of Arthur Jr. was a defining moment in Aquaman's character. A future child is no problem, but, for the time being, leave him without child.
Finally, explore the depths. There's plenty of interesting folks down there, and as a king of Atlantis, that's where Orin should focus his intention. No problem going to the surface now and again, but keep it mainly in Atlantis.
Oh, and bring back Cerdia.
