I recently bought Jimmy Olsen #115 on ebay because of Aquaman's guest appearance. I always liked Aquaman's appearances in Silver and Bronze Age Superman family titles, and though I'd had this book years ago, I'd somehow lost it. Anyway, the panel used for the banner tells part of the tale -- Aquaman "dies" after the Old Man of the Sea forces Aquaman and Jimmy to take part in a life or death contest, the winner to take over as King of the Seas. Pete Costanza, the artist, was nearing the end of his long career, and its interesting contrasting his Golden Age style art to the sophisticated art of Neal Adams, who drew the cover to the comic. The comic is worth checking out, as a kind of last gasp of Mort Weisinger style Superman story-telling. (The splash page is pretty terrific, too.)
