I'm torn too. See, that is the problem with Aquaman. They created far too many versions of him. Here is what I would do. Feel free to change or add what you would do.
My pitch. Combine the two. Both were popular.
Add medium length hair. Moustache and Goatee, but trimmed very close.
Classic Orange and Green Costume, BUT with a modern twist. Keep the added Gold Trims (i.e. Gold collar and add Gold Gauntlets).
Restore his hand.
Arthur should re-marry Mera and have a Son.
Atlantis rebuilt and Arthur as King.
My reason, He'd have more to lose. Arthur works BEST when he's "pinned against the wall" and his loved ones are Threatened. You can threaten Orin all you want, but mess with his family, Now you're asking for a world of pain.
PUT HIM IN the JUSTICE LEAGUE! He's a founder. Give him some respect.
Remember his abilities. His Sonar Sense for example. It's kinda like a Spider Sense. SO Many forget he has that ability.
Be consistent on his Strength Level. Aquaman should be Stronger than usually portrayed. The intense pressures of the deep has made his body denser than most. He should also be taller than most.
Add a few powers. Now that he became all water, MAYBE, just maybe he can control water. Perhaps summon moisture from the air when on land. Or able to affect the body water inside an opponent.
Those are just some thoughts. Anyone else care to add?

: Didio says in one of the panels reported on
