My biggest problem with the replacement Aquaman and some of the others in the DCU is the total lack of respect or outright destruction of the Teen Titans (my Titans that I grew up with). These characters were supposed to be better than their mentors because they grew up with love, support, and a family. Tempest should have been Aquaman if they were to go to the replacement.

: Why can't the Aquamen co-exist? Bring back
: Arthur, either whole or with a harpoon or
: water hand, and have he and Mera rebuild
: Atlantis. Joseph and his dad can move into
: Poseidonis (or Tritonis or whichever city is
: his) and day to day, normal heroics could be
: handled by the kid. Anything too huge could
: be Arthur's job and they could swap off on
: JLA missions even. Plus, if they notice
: that certain issues sell better than others
: than that Aquaman gets more issues because
: that's the will of the people. I think it's
: either that or sneak a team into the Auaman
: title. Give us Dolphin, Mera, Tempest, and
: that eskimo illegitimate kid as well and
: make everyone equal parts of driving the
: story. People like teams.
