: on the other hand, i am getting the book
: because he's back to the retro look. which
: shows that anecdotal evidence isn't really
: evidence. it takes a slightly larger
: sampling size to say one way or the other.
: have you looked at sales of comics overall
: lately? how many ongoings are introduced
: each year? and how many are gone within 2
: years? most of them. so, to blame bad sales
: just on a look is drawing a connection when
: there's no real evidence of one.
:
: the volume before this one featured the
: non-retro version and it got cancelled.
: pretty sure it wasn't cancelled because it
: had good sales at the time. if anything, it
: indicated that the good sales it had may
: have had more to do with people being fans
: of peter david than aquaman, regardless of
: the outfit. david's book would have probably
: sold regardless of the outfit.
:
: When will the hard-core(that means retro) Aquaman fans get it in their heads that the golden age version of the character is considered comicdom's laughing stock? The AQUAMAN book lost thousands and thousands of its readers since the return to the retro look and has people mocking the character all over again something that had not happened for more than a decade!! #1 which featured PAD's version sold 45000 and but now, after the change in look, it sells a mere 17000! AQUAMAN can sell comics but obviously NOT the ridiculous orange-shirt/green pants/clean cut version! PAD made the character credibile and that was the reason that his run was succesful. He could not have managed that without the change in look! Sorry, retro lovers but you have to face the truth!
