Posted by Julie Reams Joseph repeated kindergarten and is really having a rough time with second grade. I feel like we need a miracle to bring him to a place where he can feel good about school subjects and this summer feels kind of "do or die". Whatever thoughts you have on all this would be so appreciated.

I, probably like many of you, have tried so many different "treatments" for the learning issues my son struggles with. Joseph is nine years old and has been getting services through our school district since he was three. He's had speech and occupational therapy (for handwriting and sensory integration) as well as resource help for years and years. His initial issues were with processing and the speech therapist noticed he aslo had visual tracking problems. This year we had him tested for auditory processing issues and he tested in the norm (we know that these issues persist). We have not noticed large gains even after six years of therapy and six months of visual therapy with an optometrist. He also been getting acupuncture and tutoring for six months and three years respectively. The consensus is that he is a very bright boy-but he has major problems with attention, reversals, handwriting, spelling, spatail relationships and math concepts escape him completely.
I'm so interested in audiblox, but I feel like I've put so much hope, so much time and so much $$$$ into trying to make things easier for Joseph that I'm reluctant to put us through it all over again. I've read your stories and they are amazing. But I've seen so many testamonials for so many things and nothing seems to be all that I'm led to believe it is.
