Very inspiring story. My daughter is 8 years old and has been held back one year already. I have to go to a meeting and discuss taking her out of regular classes. She is doing very well in math, and her physical skills are crisp. I do not think it is necessary. I see a lack of confidence perhaps. Her short term memory is very bad. For example, learning spelling words takes hours, and she does get them. When she goes to bed, it's like her mind erases what she had learned. She totally oblivious to anything we had studied the night before. I was just researching with the hope I can keep her from being tagged by the other students as being (well, children can also be very cruel)..."special"
