They've also listed the winners of awards that were given at the end of the championships... ****************************************** Following the completion of competition at the 2007 Australian Championships, Gymnastics Australia hosted its Annual Awards at the Melbourne Park function centre. Over 300 invited guests attended the awards, where performances of Australia's artistic gymnasts throughout 2006 were recognised. A summary of the 2006 award recipients is listed below: Men's Artistic: Junior Athlete of the Year: Martin Jozwiak (WA) Senior Athlete of the Year : Philippe Rizzo International Coach of the Year: Vladimir Vatkin (AIS) Women's Artistic: Junior Athlete of the Year: Jasmine Webb (QLD) Senior Athlete of the Year: Dasha Joura (WA) Coaching Team of the Year: Western Australian Institute of Sport (WA) FIG World Class Gymnast Awards: Hollie Dykes (QLD) Dasha Joura (WA) Retirements: Karen Nguyen (VIC) Monette Russo (VIC) In addition to the above awards, Gymnastics Australia also recognised the 2006 Commonwealth Games team, with a series of special presentations, in addition to the performances of athletes at the 2006 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, including the historic gold medal performance of Philippe Rizzo on the Horizontal Bar.
