how very uninformed you are, if you only knew. let it be what it is. every program in any sport has athletes that are full of potential, it is impossible to know who will be there by the time the olympics roll around, so many circumstances. unless you know the entire story, let the gymnasts be and the coaches do thier job. how would you like every move you made scrutinized on the messageboard? ju ping left and she is the one who hired the "russian coaches" so she must have felt he was capable to take over the gymnasts she left.

: the chinese coaches had the program up and
: running in good form as everyone would have
: noticed. since the russians took over, they
: have changed the coaching style and way of
: training. the girls aren't used to this,
: hence why they have been getting a lot of
: stress related injuries. the chinese were
: better coaches and thats why the results
: have gone down. the chinese also had a
: stricter eating diet which wasntt too strict
: or anything but just kept them in good shape
: where as the russians got rid of that.

: No, your thoughts aren't random at all. I
: think you are asking valid questions that
: many of us would like to know the answer to.

: There has been quite a few (negative)
: comments
: about the AIS program and it's gymnasts over
: the past few weeks.
:
: It got me thinking about what is happening
: there. I have been a fan of the AIS style of
: gymnastics over the years and was excited at
: the prospects of Monique, Hollie, Melody,
: Victoria, Casey and others (I can't remember
: now!)coming through.
:
: They have certainly had their share of
: injuries and retirements but they have not
: lived up to expectation.(Although I think
: Hollie is doing brilliantly on beam and
: Melody has made a remarkable comeback).Is
: this due to the program, the new head coach
: or just bad luck?
:
: Since Ju Ping has left it just doesn't seem
: to have the same standard. No-one seems to
: comment on the head coach there - what do
: people think of him? The girls seem to still
: do well on beam but that is still coached by
: the Chinese coach.
:
: I also noticed on GA website Team Future
: girls at the Institutes and the AIS only
: have a handful of girls coming through
: whereas WAIS, VIS and QAS have a huge pool
: of girls. Is the program being phased out
: and the AIS will only be used for camps?
:
: Sorry my thoughts are a bit random but does
: anyone have any ideas on what they think is
: happening?
